The swirl flap is a component found commonly in modern engines that are designed to produce a swirl in the airflow in the inlet manifold and intends to increase combustion when the engine's RPM is low. Below high load, the swirl flap completely opens to allow the engine to function for maximum power output. Unfortunately, swirl flaps frequently clog with soot or become damaged due to EGR issues. This can cause significant damage to the engine, as there is a severe risk that components of the swirl flap will jam, drastically decreasing engine power. If this happens to occur, repairs can be costly. Our software can be used within a swirl flap removal process to prevent engine fault codes occurring, assuring no engine management lights occur.
